Small bread?

Fresh bread is lovely! I really enjoy my bread machine and the fresh bread several times a week. Ideally all my bread would be baked the same day, but the smallest loaves you can programme my bread machine for is 500g. I can't eat that in a day! And making smaller ones would probably be very energy inefficient. But I wanted to know if it was even possible. So one day I put ingredients for a hypothetical 250g loaf in. And indeed, it doesn't work! The dough moves to the sides, out of the way of the kneading paddle. So now I know! 500g it will be.

I ate most of it anyway! There were some bits that were pretty much dry flour but anything recognisable got eaten! Food waste would be sad. But this is not to be repeated.
