Soon after I mentioned I would use the next suitable opportunity to seek a statistically knowledgeable colleague to help me with the statistics practical with the dissertation students I mailed my line manager to ask if it was OK if I would try to get a new colleague on board. He said yes. So I sent an email out.
Soon after that there was a knock on the door. (Normally it’s open, but I had been in a video call, so now it wasn’t.) and in came my new Italian colleague: Marianna. She professed her love for statistics without holding back! So she’s on. This was working out so much better than I thought! I look forward to getting our teeth stuck in together…
