Neolithic date

This year started with a date. And to be more precise: two first dates in succession. But I don't want to have second (or more) dates with more than one man, so I had to choose, and I did. And for a while, that went very well! But a few months later all that had collapsed again. That was disheartening. These first weeks when all seemed idyllic had lulled me into a false sense of security. Once I started online dating after having gotten over my initial aversion, and I did have that series of dates, I got the impression it is surprisingly straightforward. But of course it isn't!

Having had a bit of a reality check, I did go back to it. Who doesn’t try gets no results, after all. And now that has lead to another date. It actually was with the bloke I had explored Chester with.

This time he came west. As I mentioned before, he liked Neolithic monuments. And there are plenty around here. I had my sight on the Druid’s Circle, above Penmaenmawr. But there is enough to choose from! And what we would see in the end would probably come down to the weather. The plan was that he would come down on a Saturday morning, we would go and see some Neolithic stuff, and have dinner. And he had found some accommodation in the area.

In spite of the awful weather forecast we decided to go for it, and try the stone circle above Penmaenmawr. And we found it! It was very atmospheric. And we got a good soaking while seeing it.

After lunch the weather was a lot better, so we added a few more monuments. And then it was time to get ready for our dinner. I had managed to book a table in Voltaire; I had been wanting to go there for years, and now it's finally happened.

We had such a good time we teamed up to see three more historic sites the day after. And we already have a follow-up date in the diary. Watch this space!
