Back at work

On the Friday of my first week of jury service, we were done in the early afternoon. And by 5 pm, there had been no email to say that we had to return on Monday. I was thankful of that. I had plenty of work to do!

That Monday I biked into the office again. And I had to try to tackle the backlog. Lots of students who were trying to have their proposals for their own dissertation projects approved, reminders that I needed to update this semester's exams so they could be scrutinised by internal and external reviewers, doing the preparation for the field trip… there was enough to do!

A dinoflagellate (pic by Tintinnidguy); there was plankton in one of the proposals

I also went to have an external coffee with Susan, as I was sad and she was providing some support. That was kind.

I didn't get as much done as I hoped I would, but at least a fair bit. And by the end of the day, I noticed I didn't have an email, again, to summon me back to court. I could work on Tuesday too!
