The infrared men left early enough for me to make it to the Thursday Night Hill session. We would meet on the lay-by by the road to the reservoir. The previous time we met there, we had headed into the swampy area near Mynydd Llandygai from there, but not this time. The post had been specific about mountain runnning. So I expected the Marchyn loop. The last time I had done that was with Henco and Maaike. This time we would have more clouds, and faster shoes.
I was right! And we would do it clockwise. So we started up the asphalt road, but we left it as soon as practicable. And we came past the tunnel into the mountian, out of which some water flows. And from there up the hill, the usual route.

By Carnedd y Filiast we were almost in the clouds. And by Elidir Fawr we were well in it. It was a rather cold run! I only ran the path up to the ridge in only my vest. And some of the great views were missing. But it was a nice run. And I wasn't so slow downhill this time. We had done the downhill bit to Elidir Fach shortly after my knee sprain. That had been difficult! And slow. This time I was still slow but not quite THAT slow.

I think we did all of it in about 2:15 hrs. And that included a break at the summit, and periodically waiting for everyone. Also for people who peeled off for a wee. So not bad! An evening well-spent!
